montana fly Fishing Report

man what a day at montana fly in billings! so it was overcast all day, kinda chilly at 16.1 C but hey, that’s fishing right? got there around sunrise (5:39 am) and hit the water. threw on my favorite #12 pheasant tail nymph, and bam! first cast, i hooked a nice rainbow, maybe around 4 lbs. then a few hours later i got another, bigger one, like 5 lbs! wind was a bit strong at times, gusting to 24.1 km/h, but the fish didn’t mind. landed a total of 3 rainbows before noon, couldn’t believe it! just a great day on the water, can’t wait to go back!
