fished in NYC today, June 27th and it was kinda gloomy out there. overcast skies and a slight breeze but you know what? it didn’t stop us! went out around 6am and set up shop near the pier with my buddy. we were targeting stripers and used some live eels, which are always a go-to for us. the bite was slow at first but after a couple hours, I hooked into a solid 28-incher! man, that thing put up a fight. caught a couple smaller ones too, nothing less than 20 lbs. we ended up with 4 keepers by noon. packed it in right as the sun was starting to peek through the clouds around 1pm. overall, a good day on the water. can't wait to do it again, even with the cloudy skies. fish were definitely hungry today!
