south padre island surf Fishing Report

wind was crazy today but we pushed through! caught a couple of nice pompanos and lost a big one at the shore. was using a jig head with shrimp. overcast skies still made it feel good. can’t wait to go again!

needed to dodge some rain but we caught some nice fish! had a blast reeling in a few flounder and skipped a lot of them too. water was choppy but the thrill kept me going. also saw some dolphins, that was awesome!

the wind died down a bit today, perfect conditions! landed 3 slot reds and a few trout, was using live bait. overcast skies were great, fish seemed to be active. not too hot either, felt nice out there.

surf was calm today but cloudy, caught some big jack crevalle! used a popper lure around the breaking waves. wind was strong though, had to be careful with the casting. so pumped about the jacks I got!

the rain was a real pain today, but we still got a couple of nice redfish! had to wait it out but the bites came in waves after 3pm. used cut mullet and it worked wonders. hopefully next time it'll be clear skies!
