newport Fishing Report

fished at Newport this morning, the weather was cloudy which kinda made it nice. temp was around 21, not too hot, ya know. i started around 5:30 AM, just after sunrise. used my trusty spinning reel with 10 lb test line and a gulp! shrimp that i swear works wonders. hooked into a couple of flounders and a decent striper! lost one that was definitely a keeper tho, just slipped off right by the boat, ugh! wind picked up a bit by midday, about 26 kph, but it didn’t ruin the vibe. the water was choppy but i really enjoyed the challenge. packed it in around 1 PM with a nice little haul. can't wait to go back!
