smith lake Fishing Report

just another rainy day at smith lake, but couldn’t resist. went out with some buddies, caught a few sunfish and a nice bluegill. the rain made it hard to feel the bites tho! still had a blast though. we laughed it off!

had a wild thunderstorm hit while i was fishing yesterday. caught 2 nice bass before it rolled in! pretty sketchy but the adrenaline was pumping. used a jigging technique that was working well before the storm, trying to stay dry was impossible tho!

finally some nice weather on the 22nd! partly cloudy and warm, hit the lake early. caught a few catfish on cut bait which was a nice change. water was pretty clear, saw some nice fish swimming around. good vibes!

more rain on the way, but i couldn't resist. went out last night after work, only got 3 small ones tho. the wind was chillier than i expected, but the rain really made the fish active. used my trusty senko.

went out again yesterday, same rain situation, but got my PB! a solid 5lb largemouth on a topwater frog. couldn't believe it. I was soaked but it was worth it. storms didn't scare them off, that's for sure!
