smithville lake Fishing Report

got out to smithville even with the heavy rain on the 26th. honestly, i thought it was gonna be a total bust but caught 2 nice pike! they were lurking around the fallen trees. crazy weather, good fish!

fishing was tough with the heavy rain on the 20th, but i got lucky and hooked a nice 5lb bass! used a crankbait in the shallows. all soaked but totally worth it. can't let a little rain stop the fun!

another overcast day on the 18th, but managed to catch a few nice bluegills. used tiny hooks and worms. wind was strong tho, hard to keep the boat steady but still had a blast!

overcast skies at smithville on the 16th but hey i caught a 6lb crappie! used a jig and those fish were biting like crazy by the brush. it's funny how a cloudy day can still lead to great catches!

partly cloudy today but i had some luck with a spinnerbait. caught 3 bass, biggest was 3.5lbs. they were hangin near the docks. also saw a big turtle! fishing is always better on a nice day, right?
