beaufort nc Fishing Report

so i hit the new bern area today, weather was kinda moody with those thunder clouds but i thought why not. got out there around 6am, sunrise was beautiful, felt good to be on the water. used my trusty shimano baitcaster with some 10lb mono. i was targeting reds and they didn’t disappoint! caught 4 keepers, biggest one around 25 inches. worked the flats with some topwater and they were smashing it like crazy! was a blast, even with the wind pickin up a bit. by noon i was soaked from a light drizzle but hey, that's fishing right? can’t wait to get back out there, hoping for more of the same tomorrow!
