orange beach pier Fishing Report

fog rolled in early today. pretty eerie at the pier but still dropped my line. ended up catching a bunch of small mackerel! used shiny lures to attract them, they were hungry haha. it was a unique experience, not your typical fishing day but i loved it!

stayed overcast most of the day but still went fishing. got a couple of nice trout, they were biting pretty decently with live bait. felt good just to be out there but had to watch for the rain. love fishing in the gulf anytime! :)

today was decent! some patchy rain but nothing crazy. caught a few whiting off the pier using cut bait. wasn't a huge haul but it was nice just being out in the fresh air. saw some dolphins too, made my day for real! hope to go again soon!

so much for my plans... another rainy day and winds picked up at the pier. i fished with my husband, we only got a couple of tiny flounders and one catfish ugh. tried different spots but no luck. gotta wait for this weather to chill out. frustating!

man, bright sunny day at the pier today! i took my new rod and reel combo and it was on fire! caught a bunch of speckled trout, pretty fat ones too. used a soft plastic lure, the bass assassin worked wonders. felt like a pro out there, had a blast!
