south coast Fishing Report

hey folks, fished off the south coast near Southampton today. it was pretty wet with that rain comin down, but we braved it. temp was chilly too, only around 11°C. ended up landing 4 mackerel and one decent gurnard! used my trusty old spinning rod with a size 1 hook and some fresh mackerel strips as bait, those fish just couldn't resist. the wind was a bit of a pain, gusts at 27 km/h made it tough to keep the line in the water at times. but man, when they hit, it felt awesome! just wish my buddy had brought the good rain gear, he was soaked. all in all, had a blast out there, can't wait to do it again even if the weather isn't great.
