May 26 was foggy as heck but decided to brave it. caught a few nice panfish, perfect for a fry! fog makes everything look so mysterious and cool. not much wind helped too, i could really feel the bites. felt like i was in a fishing movie!
went out on May 19, fishing was slower than expected. had some patchy clouds but the temp was nice. only got a few smaller trout but the views were killer. gotta love the peace and quiet of the lake, even when they ain't biting!
May 13 was a bit rainy but we took our chances and went out anyway. caught a nice 6lb lake trout! it was a battle getting it up. used a big swimbait, which worked wonders. i just love the thrill of battling those big guys, rain or shine!
hit Lake Simcoe on May 8, weather was pretty gloomy. ice was thick but had to work for my catch. iced a couple of bass, nothing too big, but one was close to 4lbs! it was nice to get out again after that rain on the 29th, even if it was a bit cloudy.
May 2nd was another overcast day, felt cold but not too bad. managed to hook into some nice perch. they were hitting my ice flies like crazy! took home a few for dinner. was super windy but overall a fun time on the ice. love this lake!
