sarasota bay Fishing Report

crazy weather today! it was pouring at times, but we stayed strong. caught one big grouper and a few smaller snapper. it felt like we were the only ones out there, just us and the ocean. rain can be a pain but nothing beats the thrill of a good catch!

back out at sarasota again in the cloudy weather today, got 5 mangroves on my light tackle. just love how sneaky they are in this bay. using some live shrimp, they were hitting like crazy! even with the wind picking up, we had a blast, fishing with friends makes any conditions fun!

went back out to the bay when it was overcast again. caught a few ladyfish and a good size flounder! these clouds are great for fishing, like the fish were more active or something. used a bucktail jig, can't get enough of this place, always surprises me.

dropped the line this morning, bit of patchy rain but man, the bite was on! i got 4 nice snapper, all around 20 inches. used my go-to gold spoon and they just couldn’t resist! started to clear up by noon so it turned into a nice day. definitely gonna hit this spot again!

whoa what a day! got out there while it rained again, but the fish were biting! i got a couple of reds on my new jig with blue and white colors. feels good when you nail the right spot. stayed out for a while despite the weather, just couldn't help myself. rain or shine, right?
