carter lake colorado Fishing Report

another sunny day at carter! hit the shore early, just me and my thoughts. ended up catching 2 pretty nice bass on a topwater frog. they were super aggressive today! such an awesome feeling when that line starts screaming.

partly cloudy but warm today, perfect fishing weather! took the kayak out and caught a nice little rainbow trout. used some spoons and they were hitting like crazy! loved every minute of it, it’s why i love this lake.

back to the lake today and oh boy the rain came back hard! but it didn’t stop me. i got one nice pike that hit my jerkbait just after sunset! had to fight the wind too, but was totally worth it. pike tacos tonight!

finally got some sunshine at carter lake! took my kids out and they had a blast. we caught a bunch of small trout, like maybe 12? used powerbait, they were hungry. ended the day with a picnic by the water, perfect!

man it was POURING today, but i braved the storm like a true angler haha. only caught one decent sized catfish but it was worth the wet socks! switched to a floating bait and it seemed to work. see u next time carter!
