red deer river Fishing Report

may 22nd was sort of a bust too, lots of patchy rain. didn’t get any bites at all. tried a new bait but no luck. beautiful views though, so at least the scenery was top notch. hopefully the weather gets better soon.

fished on May 20, and wow, what a dreary day! light rain throughout made it hard to feel bites. got skunked! just sat there drinking coffee and enjoying the nature. better luck next time!

went on the 16th, gloomy and cold all day. only caught a couple of small ones. tried using a couple different lures but nothing seemed to work. river was high and fast, not ideal conditions, but still nice to be by the water.

May 14th was a washout, literally! the rain didn’t stop but I still went out early. didn’t catch much, just one little guy that escaped before I could weigh it. wind was a bit wild too, but hey, at least I got to fish!

Man, today was something else! May 12, pouring rain and cold, but I went anyway. hooked into 3 decent trout, all around 2lbs. I was soaked but it was totally worth it. used my trusty fly rod - they were hitting it like crazy despite the weather.
