horseshoe lake arkansas Fishing Report

finally got a break from the rain on the 14th! hit the lake and boy was it hot, caught some nice bream and a few bass too. used topwater frogs and they were smashing it! perfect way to end a long stretch of bad weather. loved every minute of it.

rain was relentless on the 11th, but I was determined. used live bait after hearing it works good. caught a nice channel cat and lost a big bass near the shore. it was frustrating but I love a good challenge, ya know? can’t wait to go back when it clears.

overcast skies on the 10th, but I got out there anyway. fished from dawn till dusk and only caught a few small ones. tried using some topwater lures but nothing big came up. wind was a little rough, kept having to retie my line. just one of those days i guess.

heavy rain again on the 9th but couldn’t resist the urge to fish. got a few bites but no keepers. used a couple different lures but the fish seemed shy. water temp dropped a bit, didn’t help our case. might wait a bit for the weather to clear up.

man, the rain just kept coming. fished at horseshoe on the 6th and it was crazy. but the bass were biting! caught a solid 5lb and lost another big one. spinners worked great in the shallows, even with the rain. soaked to the bone but worth it!
